BLUE MOUNTAIN
HOW TO GET THERE:
Go to Blue Mountain South, it is by Big Baby if you are familiar with the skiing there. Cut the trail map on their website in half and that is what you will actually be allowed to ride. There is no dual course yet.
Review:

Downhill and downhill only. About twelve trails down the side of the hill. Only about half are open at any one time. Shuttle system is good as long as you don't mind waiting. Terrain park at the base of the hill is good to kill the waiting time with. Some of the stunts and bridges are pretty ricketty, not only in the terrain park but also on all the trails. If you are going there for the first time, do yourself a favour and walk the bridges first to make sure they won't crumble and crack underneath you. Quality of stunts at Ravenshoe is much better. Trails are challenging, especially after grabbing your brakes all day. We were able to make about eight or nine runs the whole duration of the day. (Plenty of waiting) Price of $26 is fairly steep, but fair. I think that everyone should go there to experience riding all day without having to pedal too much. All the employees are full of downhilling advice and offer it to you whether you ask or not. Pretty elitist bunch and they worry about you if you don't look downhill enough. KELSO
HOW TO GET THERE:
401 to Milton, follow the signs
Review:

Pretty good variety of terrain. More and more man-made obstacles to keep things interesting and lots of potential for more. It takes between two and three hours to ride most of the trails. We found that it was best to park at the base of the hill and save the downhill run back to the car for last. There are a few ways down the hill and all of them can be fast. They have also constructed some sort of DS run complete with berms and doubles. Go to www.alwaysmad.com for pictures of what is in store for you if you go to Kelso. Kelso has been improving every year for about the last five years and it is becoming a great place to ride.

Review:

Interesting, well thought out, technical trails. Congratulations to the people who build and maintain this trail system. Very tight, twisty, rooty singletrack with lots of stunts thrown in to make things more interesting. Don't go here for your very first ride on a mountain bike, but on your second ride try this place out because the only way to get better is with practise. It seems to take about two or three hours to ride all the trails here, but we did not have a map, so we might have missed some of the paths and we definately ended up riding a few of them twice. Go to www.alwaysmad.com for pictures of this place.
